This book aims to offer an analysis of the Andean Community of Nations which reflects military, political, societal, economic and environmental security issues. Although Venezuela opted out of the Community in 2006, it has been included in the analysis due to its inevitable interlinking with other countries in the region and its enormous geostrategic importance for the area. The first chapter, written by Pavlína Springerová, details security threats posed by Bolivia. The second chapter and final chapter, respectively dealing with Colombia and Venezuela, were authored by Martin Hrabálek, the third and fourth chapters, dealing with Ecuador and Peru, were written by Věra Stojarová.
