Martin Krajc's monograph „Pictures In My Head“, for the first time comprehensively presents a cross-section of the work of one of the best Czech figural painters of today. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 2009, where he studied under Michal Rittstein. During his studies he became a co-founder of the successful generation group OBR. His work is characterized by an emphasis on the human figure, representing his main means of expression. He understands it in a wide range, from the inspirations of the classics of Spanish Baroque painting to photographs from contemporary fashion magazines. The relaxed handwriting, full of emotional twists, creates a flow of experiences from the painting, turning to the changing phenomena of the contemporary world and revealing features of longing and the passage of time. His work attracts dynamic tension, based on fleeting sensory experiences, as well as a systematic definition of everyday presence.
