Prague´s Stolperstine - Stumbling Stones Defiant in Their Memory

Trevor Sage je britský inženýr, který se usadil v Praze. V roce 2018 se rozhodl vyčistit pražské památníky věnované obětem nacistického režimu tzv. Stolpersteine (kameny zmizelých) poté, co se o nich dozvěděl na prohlídce pražského Židovského města. První Stolperstein byl v Praze instalován 8. října 2008 a již čtyřstý byl položen 22. června 2021. Sage sestavil tuto knihu jako poctu obětem nacistického režimu. Kniha spojuje fotografie kamenů zmizelých s portrétními fotografiemi obětí, informacemi o jejich transportech a také dojemné životní příběhy několika obětí, často sepsané přímo jejich příbuznými, kteří do knihy laskavě přispěli. ************************** Trevor Sage is a British expat living in Prague. He started cleaning the cities Stolpersteine, memorials dedicated to victims of Nazism, in 2018, after learning about them on a tour of Prague’s Jewish Quarter. Prague’s first Stolperstein was installed on 8 October 2008. The city’s 400th was laid on 22 June 2021. Sage compiled this book as a tribute to the victims. It brings together: photographs of the Stolpersteine; portrait pictures of the person, and information about their deportation(s); touching stories about victims’ lives are included, many written by relatives who have kindly contributed to this book.
